NPP top official's meeting on EC’s ‘crucial’ letter to the party

Veteran Journalist Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has revealed that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Director of Finance and Administration, received a crucial letter from the Electoral Commission (EC) requesting the party to make certain documents including the Togo register available to it for investigation, but failed to notify other party executives about it.

According to him, his checks at the EC indicate that the said letter which was dated 19th October was received same day by the NPP official, but he claims because his life was being threatened he had to leave the party’s headquarters without informing his colleagues about the letter.

Notorious armed robber, Johnson Kombian, sentenced to death by hanging

Notorious armed robber, Johnson Kombian has been sentenced to death by hanging by a jury.

He was charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder in October 2010.

Kombian ambushed and killed two police officers and left another injured in the Nakpanduri area in the Northern region.

Two injured after armed robbers storm Promise Land



Two persons have sustained gunshot wounds after armed robbers stormed Promise Land near Adjei Kojo, a suburb of Accra Tuesday dawn.
One of the victims was shot when the robbers entered his home.
The other injured person was amongst a group of youth who stepped out to confront the criminals, but were forced to flee when the suspected robbers shot at them.
The residents say they are terrified by the situation.

A man called Joy has been accused of having sex with three dogs and a horse belonging to friends.
Travis Austin Joy, from Spokane County, Washington state, was arrested on Wednesday afternoon for allegedly filming seven videos that show him involved in sexual acts with animals.
He was detained when a video camera was found by a former roommate after he apparently moved out, and was handed over to animal protection staff.
The 45-year-old has appeared in court for an initial hearing accused of animal cruelty.
The Spokane County Sheriff's Office said Joy, a three-time convicted felon, made the videos between October 2012 and February 2014, reports local news channel KXLY.

The brainchild of Genberg Underwater Hotels, which has placed previous aquatic accommodations in the center of a Swedish lake, the Manta Resort's floating island is three stories. The top deck is designed for stargazing and sunbathing, while lounging and dining take place inside the water deck. Down below, the bedroom's windows forgo curtains in favor of unobstructed views of marine life, such as squid and octopus, which are illuminated by evening spotlights.
The cost to reserve the room ranges from $900-$1,500 per night, depending upon single or double occupancy.

Caught for trying to Sell soap as phone for a passerby


This guy tried to sell a washing bar soap with a case for someone as a phone at Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra but was caught. He was asked to make a call with it, if only it goes thru then he is free to leave. He is still dialing as i speak.

Bristow Helicopter’s Black Box Found

The Accident Investigation Bureau has announced that it recovered the Black Box of the Bristow helicopter that crashed into the Lagos lagoon on August 12, Wedneday.
Premium Times reports that the black box contains the cockpit voice and the flight data recorders.

ISIL - responsibility for eastern Iraq blasts claim

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) group has claimed responsibility for attacks that killed more than 50 people near the eastern Iraqi city of Baquba.

More than 80 people were injured in Monday's attacks that happened in predominantly Shia areas in Diyala province.

The deadliest attack occurred in the town of Huwaydir. Police said a suicide car blast tore through a marketplace, killing dozens of people.
